Man that's crazy, I know a couple of dentists and they all hate their jobs.. What gives?

because the only place i would happily do the things of my trade is while having a long deco stop, howver cant convince my patients come with me and hold their breath for lets say 30 min :-)

Honestly the job is far too stressful

That was me and Stealth (Lee) that were on Brians boat.. and we're not I repeat NOT a couple...

That whole conversation you may have overheard about "bottom time" and harnesses will all become clear once you get certified...

Welcome aboard Brian!

This is true. However.. "A couple of divers diving for scallops of my boat" sounded like a line from a nursery rhyme and I'm getting too old for nursery rhymes.

Hi Brian - good on you for managing to out plumb bob on your first post!

And plumb bob - don't worry, its probably safe for you to come out now that you've left the south island and moved to Wellington. Plenty of your type down in the capital.

Hi Drew and welcome to SODS!

When you say you are an advanced diver do you mean you are AOW certified?

Ah...could be, if by AOW you mean Advanced Open Water???....If so yes, its the stage before master diver under the SSI (scuba school international) system.

so far i have completed specialties in night, boat, deep, nav and wreck with the view to complete a couple more and reach master dive and dive con so i can help out with my local dive school/shop [plug] underwater sports chch [plug] hehehe, and help introduce others to the sport.

cheers

hehehe, cheers i think wellington is good for dive holidays, but not to keen on living there.
i have been researching some of the wrecks up there that im keen to have a look at, and then theres the wellington (former RNZN). I have been thinking about getting some people together for a trip up there but will wait for the silly season to finish first.
most of my diving is in Kaikoura and coast south of at the mo, but i am looking to get more wet time in the outer banks peninsula as well.

the trouble that i have found is that once people find there dream spot they dont like taking new people there for fear of overcrowding or something, its strange i know but i have even had some say to make sure you leave any GPS's at home.
so thats fine, i will respect there wishes, but just think it makes it harder for new people to find buddies and good spots, so my goal is to help new divers, find new good spots and just increase the pool of local knowledge.

should be too hard aye, hehehe.

Good Day

Name's Chris, I've just completed the Padi OW course in Rarotonga.

So I'm pretty new to diving but always keen to learn something new.

Elaine, my missus, is the more experienced one with a Scottish SubAqua qualification although she did the Padi as well to keep me company.

We're both from the UK originally (me Welsh, Elaine Scots), been out here for a few years.
