There has been an accident in the Tory channel on Good Friday. Still waiting for info at this stage. The rescue chopper is on the way across...

A 20 yr Blenheim man diving with friends arrived at the surface unconscious.

Flown by Westpac rescue helicopter to Wellington Hospital where he was treated. Still waiting to see what for...

I'll update again as I know... Makes it easy sitting in a newsroom...

wonder why all over the place?? Surely chch hospital would have been a better option to start with... well I had better not speculate.. will wait for Dazzler Campbell to give us some more info :)

Nought wrong with constructive speculation.. There could be dozens of medical reasons for going to the closest hospital first then on to a chamber.

Just seen it on the news. I must ask why they said he surfaced with the bends then said they didnt know what went wrong.
Shame on TV3 news, Talk about speculation! :P

I gotta agree, I think the bends is an easy (lazy) association to have with anyone who has a diving accident...

That and the words deep and 15 metres....
