I agree.

BP/W's are not for everyone but everyone should try one before forking out the $$$.
You should come along to a SODS lake session and check a couple out. Im sure we could even orgainse a dive in one for you.

I'll take you up on that offer! Thank you! Have been doing a bit of reading on BP/W today after your suggestions, I like the look of the flexibility. Not having to wear 14kgs strapped round my waist also has an appeal! And if so many people love them, I guess they aren't as uncomfortable as they look!

I absolutely love my DSS BP/W rig.
As PH said, come along to a lake dive and check out a few.

Another thing I'd suggest is to get the cheapest wetsuit that fits you; if you are like most of us, you will soon want a drysuit.

Kaz (G/F) used to love her BCD, until I got her a wing. She's now loves the wing and has sold the BCD [...and there's nothing at all wrong with the BCD before you say anything LB!!!]. I'm sure she'd be happy for you to take it for a spin in the lake - drop me a PM if you're interested and I'll line it up....

Sharkgirl - there is a SODS trip with PK Dive at the Poor Knights on the 31st of May. I believe there are still two spaces on it. COuld be a good place to see some different rigs (will be a mixture of BCD's / BP/W's) to have a look at.

Anyway - will be a fun day's diving as long as the weather doesn't party poop!

That sounds fun! If people don't mind me stealing bits and pieces to play with it would be a great way of experimenting! I've sent an e-mail to Jill to find out if there are any spaces.

It's certainly poopy at the moment, so let's hope it gets all that out the way for the 31st! :D
