Does anyone know how to reset a Suunto Vyper? I have sold mine and the person buying it would like to know if I can reset it for him or does it have to be 'factory reset'?
If I took the battery out for a while would that reset it?

That's a pain. Even if I left the battery out for a few days? Thats pretty clever how does it remember? I have trouble remembering what I done yesterday.

shamelessly stolen from another forum:

I asked exactly the same thing from Suunto and various people and the
answer is a resounding no. The dives are kept in a non-volatile memory
so leaving the battery out won't make a difference.

Here's the official answer...

"It is not possible for you to clear the logbook or history memories.
We can do this but there is a charge (£15-£20) and the computer does
need to be returned to us."

...another option would be to tie the suunto to a lead weight on a string, and do a series of shallow dives until the memory is full. It'll take ages, and will probably bend the computer, but it'd be a laugh to fill it with a series of back to back 300 meter dives ;)

Cheers guys

Only trouble is that it has to go back to Aquanaut. The only thing I'd send them is a letter bomb the unhelpfull stuck up bunch of tossers
