Anyone know any good sites or info regarding Hydrophones.
Not only am i looking for your usual 'surface' type, but I'm also after any that allow for use when diving underwater.
I've been advised that a simple video-recorder is the go but a Re-Breather would be good for this as OC is loud on the bubble-factor.
Am thinking of alampshade around the mike to diminish 'directional' sounds but I'm also sure there is software that can get rid of 'back-sounds' just like backscatter upon a photo.

...apparently, when no one is looking, cray have been know to spontaneously break out into barber shop style chorus. (demoiselles prefer to play in string quartets, however this is less common. The cellos only have a limited lifespan under water)

Just wanna record underwater sounds and specific ones if I can get close enough to specific targets.
Later on I want record audio reactions to sounds made in close proximity.
Using an amplifier, I'll see if I...

Anyway, just wanna record and listen to sounds. Photography was never my thing.

Have been recommended a sealed non-lubed condom over a mike as a good recording device from the surface. Yes, fish do make a chorus at times ...as do the sounds of a Bommie.

(Like to see you light one up underwater Taz)

Google is your friend!

Extend the cable, dive down, place it where you want it go back to surface and monitor it. When you have finished pull it in.

Or build a sealed recording device ( you could probably just use a USB voice recorder with the hydrophone plugged in). Place it where you want and come back when the USB if full.

You will not want to be in the water while recording as all you will pick up is yourself breathing either OC or CCR.
