Seeing as im not allowed to reply. this is my reply as i know they're likely to read it.

Firstly red moki most certainly do take hooks. although they don't take them as often as snapper or such.

secondly, spearo's hardly ever visit there on non commerical boats. purely because the amount of time it takes to get out there simply isn't worth it (mokes,hen and chicks, great barrier etc are easier to get to).

i highly doubt any commerical boat would let a spearo with a gun on board.

i also doubt any spearo would bother to target a red moki at the poor knights as the fish are very easy to approach out there.

I wouldn't mind geussing that a bored boatie dropped a line overboard or a person who spears or uses nets brought the carcess out to attract fish.....

I just don't think blaming spearos as a fall back is a good option.

haha someone has to stick up for the spearo's otherwise it'll turn all aussie on us! :lol:

wouldnt matter if your pseudonym was <insert_pinko_conservationist_here>, they would still think it was a spearo.

i reckon the mosaic moray did it. hes a mean bugger.
