Im no psychologist but dont you need to be insane to be a psychopath?

Either way this guy was a couple of sheep short in the top paddock, I met him on a few occasions many years ago and he was bad news then.

No apparently you can have psychopathic tendencies without being what is classed as psychotic, that is the distinction the fuzz was trying to make therefore making him culpable...

It is a common mistake for psychopathy to be confused with psychosis.

Good job. If only he'd done it several years ago before he decided to start chopping arms off etc.

given the estimated cost of $52,000 per year to keep someone in jail,, and a total of 41.3 years were handed out in this case, it comes to an approx total to the tax payer of $2.1m dollars (ok, gross generalisation, with too many assumptions made as to the variable cost,, but it's probably in that ballpark)

I'd be more than happy to stump up for a box of bullets instead.

Having worked in Psyche Wards, I don't believe people with self-inflicted (drug induced) mental deficencies should be allowed to 'get away with it'. Might as well go out and do harm to others and say I was drunk/drugged at the time with a shrug of the shoulders. I pity all the real mentally ill / handicapped people who must share rooms with these 'criminals'.

A 'real' Prison is designed to kill.

By way of slowly nullifying all sense of stimulation towards the self of the incarcerated. Without stimulation, the mind and body (etc) doesn't grow and eventually that lack of growth begins to recede (or age) in a backwards state...things deteriorate. Eventually the Prisoner slowly begins to die and then the process speeds and the Prisoner is almost incapable of thinking, let alone moving...coma (sometimes) and then death. This is something that Human Rights cannot protect criminals from, for this is a Prison.
Martin Bryant (Port Arthur Massacre) has been in isolation for years and he has never spoken for years...he is in essence, slowly dying and suicide watch is no longer an issue with guards.

Holy crap you're a psyche nurse? The craziest folk I have ever known have been PNs.

Last flatmate was one and he.... he.... well I can't talk about it as it's the subject of an ongoing investigation.
