Hell no! I was just pointing out that a fair bit of safety in transport and usage of compressed and flammable goods is essentially voluntary..

I'm always happy to get 140bar fills, but would be concerned at regularly getting 250+ fills in tanks rated to 232. Can't be a good thing. The hydro pressure, as I understand it, is an upper-limit pressure to see how the tank metal behaves. Running repeatedly at high pressures is sure to accelerate metal fatigue; something which hopefully the hydro test will pick up on.

I was toying with the idea of getting a twinset of 300bar 10L cylinders at one point (instead of 232bar 12s). In many ways I wish I had. They've got great (from my perspective) buoyancy characteristics. Heavy, but with lower water off-set than larger tanks,, which means you could run a rig with less weight on the surface, that's balanced in the water, whilst being more compact than 12L twins.

Hard to find 10L cylinders over here though. Bugger.

Right I have a question... I am wanting to make use of access that I have to a 300 bar compressor and so am looking at getting hold of a 300 bar set of twin 12s.

Not sure if this is the correct place to put this as I am a newbe (flame away) but I have a set of 300BAR twin Faber 12's for sale if you want a set.

Get some Titanium tanks - so strong you can pump 400+bar into em, even more if you want (up to 1000bar)...sadly, the only compressor able to do this is still in Russia.

The extra fill pressure would be good (if any regs could actually handle it), but you may need to add a bit more weight on your belt due to Titanium being lighter than steel.

Getting a reg that would handle 400 bar wouldnt be that hard.

Not sure if you would need more lead to sink them. They may have thicker walls to allow for the higher pressure.
As for the only compressor capable of 1000bar fills being in Russia this is not true. Look around and you will find some way of doing it. Perhaps using a Haskel style pump.

Would be cool, just spend the week slowly pumping up to 1000bar, then you get almost 8 dives of it :) That would last a while. Or one reallllllllllly long dive, who needs a rebreather??

Yeah I've heard whispers of some more 'localised' compressors able to pump out 1000+ bar, as for what tanks though, I'm not sure.
Titanium is super strong, very lightweight and at the most - easily scratches ironically. A lot of weight would be needed to combat the bouyancy issues. Would be nice to carry a tank that weighs 9 pounds, holds 1000 Bar and sets rebreathers back again (like the first aqualung did). The buoyancy is the real issue though with Titanium.

Did i mention I have a Titanium wedding ring?
Very light, very strong and better quality that stainless steel or silver.
Isn't as good as an expensive Platinum but a fractiona of a fraction of the cost. I'm not into pouncy gold - looks middle-eastern for me. I prefer the colour of Silver (all the rage these days anyway) but silver the metal has drawbacks as a wedding band.

Well with the added weight of the gas you wouldnt need extra lead for the first few hundred bar. Maybe just add lead for subsequent dives. Titanium and O2 dont seem to mix to well. Or should I say they get on like a house on fire! Although from my understanding the Russians use it for O2 tanks. Hmm but then they use pore O2 rebreathers down to 20 meters. Funny lot those Russians.

Geez, I didn't realise that Titanium and 02 react like that
